- "Mr. Robertson, I understand your viewpoint. I'd probably feel the same way in your shoes. I've kept the same apartment for three years now. I've got a good rapport with the complex manager. I would gladly take charge of the minor repairs and maintenance on the house." I paused to take a sip, reading his face. "Lisa and the girls hung out at my place a couple days a week or so this past semester. We didn't throw any wild parties, and the girls all took care of their school work first and foremost. If I'm not mistaken, Lisa's GPA even went up a bit from her first semester. I'd like to think that having a quieter place to work on her studies with fewer distractions was beneficial."
- I paused to take another sip. "As you know, I have a full-time teaching position. I have my classes and work to do as well. I'm no party animal, that's for sure. I'll be teaching a summer school course starting in a couple weeks." I drained my glass. "As much as I like my place and don't mind when Lisa, Heather, and Mandy spend time there, it was really only designed as a space for one. It would be a great help to all of us to have more room to spread out and get busy when needed." I chuckled inside at my little double-entendre.
- He broke into a smile, "Well, Barb will be pleased to hear that for sure. Let me talk to her tonight. I'll have Lisa call you tomorrow and we can iron out all the rest of details." He stood up and I shook his hand as firmly as I could. I thanked him for the drink and headed to the backyard to find my sisters.
